Tulip Mania! The new Anna Weatherley "Botanical Treasures" dinnerware collection celebrates the beauty and simplicity of the regal tulip. The collection displays one central tulip on each plate that is hanpainted in stunningly effusive colorations. Tulips originated in Central Asia first being cultivated in Iran (Persia) as early as the 10th century. It wasn't until the 16th century that tulips were imported to Holland from the Ottoman Empire (present-day Turkey). At the time, tulip bulbs were worth more than gold and were sold for 10 times what a commoner made in a year thus the time period was appropriately named “tulip mania.” Cultivate your Tulip Table with Anna Weatherley Botanical Treasures!
