The collection displays one central tulip on each plate that is hanpainted in stunningly effusive colorations. Tulips originated in Central Asia first being cultivated in Iran (Persia) as early as the 10th century. It wasn't until the 16th century that tulips were imported to Holland from the Ottoman Empire (present-day Turkey).
