Description
The MOttahedehNew Hope Ross Bowl, adorned with twisting branches, vines, and flowers, was created by Edna
Gass (1904 - 1993), an American artist born in Philadelphia and affiliated with the New Hope School of Artists. Recognized for her small impressionist pieces featuring vivid colors in addition to her classic
oil paintings on canvas, she was an accomplished printmaker. Her specialty was producing distinctive
monotypes by painting directly onto a polished porcelain plate and then transferring the wet pigment
onto paper, resulting in textured, unique prints. Crafted in high-fired hard porcelain accented with 22k gold.
