Meissen Blue Orchid White Mesh is based on a 1970 design, "Blue Orchid on a Branch” by Professor Heinz Werner, one of his most popular motifs. One element of Werner’s original is placed in the center of the elegant “Mesh” pattern, lending the pieces it's minimalist feel. The “Blue Orchid” is created using an elaborate under-glaze painting technique when the paint is applied directly to the unfired porcelain, allowing it to absorb the colour immediately, making it impossible to correct any errors. The design’s initial appearance attains its characteristic cobalt blue radiance after glazing and in reaction to the subsequent glaze firing.

Meissen dinnerware is specially ordered and each piece is hand-painted. Please anticipate a 12 - 16 week delivery.
