The Ancienne Manufacture Royale de Limoges a premium manufacturer since 1737 and has been making porcelain since 1767, when kaolin for making porcelain was discovered in Limoges. Bernardaud acquired Ancienne in 1986, and today, Ancienne operates as a decoration house, using Bernardaud porcelain blanks. Ancienne is best known for the wonderful reproductions of 18th Century porcelain designs, epecially those that were made at the Sevres factory.
